About the position

The HR Generalist at AlphaStaff will support various HR functions under the supervision of the HR Manager. This role involves managing employee relations, handling terminations, unemployment claims, and workers' compensation, as well as ensuring compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist will also assist in new hire orientations and coordinate training for clients, making it a vital position in maintaining effective HR operations for a leading management services organization in South Florida.

Responsibilities

• Handle Employee Hotline calls and conduct Virtual/On-Site Investigations with HR Manager or HR Consultant when necessary
• Manage the Termination process including consultation, documentation, processing, and filing in a timely manner
• Oversee the Unemployment Claim process, including preparation and attendance of hearings
• Assist in conducting New Hire Orientation as needed
• Provide guidance and support to clients on daily Employee Relations matters
• Coordinate and track required Trainings with clients
• Manage the FMLA process and communication with clients
• Oversee the Workers Compensation process and communication with clients
• Process Change of Status requests and ensure compliance
• Assist with the E-Verify process as needed
• Work on ongoing projects such as Employee Handbook and Policies
• Ensure clients have the appropriate federal and state labor Law Posters
• Attend monthly Office Managers' Meetings to communicate policies, procedures, and applicable laws

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• At least three years of experience in the HR field
• Proficiency in HR and Payroll
• Strong skills in Word and Excel
• Knowledgeable in Employment Law
• PHR certification preferred
