About the position

The Human Resource Generalist at Big City Optical is responsible for managing the daily operations of the HR function, which includes hiring, interviewing, administering pay and benefits, and enforcing company policies across the organization. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and assessments.
• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
• Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
• Administers human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave management.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings and investigations.
• Assists with performance evaluations and maintains compliance with employment laws.
• Maintains knowledge of trends and best practices in human resources.
