About the position

As an HR Generalist at Ross Environmental Services, Inc., you will play a crucial role in managing the full life cycle recruitment process for all professional and exempt positions. This includes sourcing candidates, building relationships with recruitment sources, attending job fairs, prescreening applicants, conducting interviews, scheduling interviews, making job offers, and coordinating the pre-hire process. You will also be responsible for entering data into the HRIS system and preparing files for onboarding new hires. Your expertise in organizational and HR knowledge will be essential in providing service excellence and developing effective solutions for both managers and associates. In addition to recruitment, you will support the HR Manager by providing key analytics and reporting on various people metrics such as time to hire, headcount, retention rates, and organization chart updates. You will also be tasked with resolving associate relations issues by working closely with supervisors and managers, conducting investigations, recommending solutions, and analyzing trends. Your role will require you to apply and interpret policies and procedures related to both basic and complex employment issues, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. You may also recommend changes to policies and procedures based on observed business trends. Fostering positive associate relations will be a key aspect of your role, as you will advise associates and supervisory personnel on the interpretation of personnel policies, programs, and procedures. You will maintain the RTS Driver Qualification (DQ) file and conduct audits, assist with various events such as service award programs, health fairs, and holiday activities, and maintain medical surveillance records. Additionally, you will collaborate with the HR Manager on the Drug-Free Workplace Program, which includes training, reporting, and random testing. Occasionally, you may be required to back up the HR Generalist at the Ross Incineration Services, Inc. (RIS) plant and Ross Transportation Services, Inc. (RTS) facilities. Understanding and assisting with the execution of RES' ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) objectives will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full life cycle recruitment of all professional/exempt positions, including sourcing, relationships with recruitment sources, attendance at job fairs, prescreening, interviewing, scheduling, offers, pre-hire process coordination, HRIS system entry and file preparation including onboarding.
  • Provides service excellence by utilizing organizational and HR knowledge to assist with developing solutions for managers and associates.
  • Shares recommendations for process or procedure improvement across the HR function.
  • Support HR Manager in providing key analytics and reporting on various people metrics, i.e., time to hire, headcount, retention, organization chart updates, etc.
  • Responsible for resolving associate relations issues, working with supervisors/managers.
  • Provides guidance, conducts investigations, recommends solutions, and analyzes trends.

  • Ensures compliance with State and Federal laws.

  • Maintains medical surveillance records and monitors for notification to EHS on specific issues.
  • In collaboration with the H.R. Manager, responsible for Drug-Free Workplace Program including, training, reporting, random testing, etc.
  • Will occasionally backup the H.R. Generalist at the Ross Incineration Services, Inc. (RIS) plant and Ross Transportation Services, Inc. (RTS) facilities.
  • Understands RES' ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) and assists with executing its objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years broad HR experience including associate relations, recruiting and retention, talent development, data analytics and relationship management.
  • Recent experience in all areas of sourcing talent including employment branding, internet, social media, networking and targeting passive job candidates.
  • Must be able to quickly gain trust and build relationships.
  • Demonstrated success at influencing and coaching associates and business leaders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and oral/written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to juggle multiple and competing priorities.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, problem solving, conflict resolution and teaming skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects or tasks while effectively prioritizing to meet deadlines in an ever changing fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough understanding of employment law at the federal, state and local levels and regulatory record keeping requirements.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience in UltiPro HRIS and with the payroll function is highly desired.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
