About the position

The HR Generalist at Orbit Irrigation plays a crucial role in managing various human resource functions, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee relations. The HR Generalist will also support compensation, benefits, payroll, and general HR functions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while promoting the company's core values of quality of life and caring relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Leads all company-wide recruitment efforts, from posting jobs and screening applicants to conducting interviews and making offers.
  • Leads multiple corporate-wide programs focusing on recruiting, onboarding, and training and development.
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains the associate handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Leads work groups, teams, and meetings; evaluates group processes and recommends solutions or alternatives.
  • Serves as focal point for assigned HR projects including recruitment, onboarding, training, and development, and coordinates with team members for successful completion.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules; develops or modifies policies or standards where necessary.
  • Investigates and addresses associate complaints, conducts internal investigations, and makes recommendations for resolution.
  • Performs data analysis and generates reports, interprets results, and makes strategic recommendations.
  • Designs and prepares training materials; develops curriculum, learning objectives, and course material.
  • Develops and implements programs to measure, improve, and reward associate performance; provides reports to management on program success.
  • Provides technical assistance on corporate issues, services, and federal and state laws.
  • Assists in training team members in areas of expertise.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency in the organization.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of HR or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant human resources, organizational development, or business field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Management skills.
  • Data analysis skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM or PHR certification preferred.
