About the position

Our client is currently seeking a HR Generalist for a major manufacturing company located in Greater Valdosta. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in providing day-to-day employee relations support and performance counseling. This position requires ensuring the fair and consistent application of all HR policies and practices, addressing and resolving employee concerns or issues, and effectively communicating to increase employee engagement and morale. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for developing and implementing HR programs and initiatives that align with the company's goals and objectives. In addition to employee relations, the HR Generalist will partner with management on HR communication, policies, procedures, and regulations. This includes managing payroll processing, time and attendance, benefits administration, and compensation. The role also involves delivering and managing training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Maintaining compliance with federal and state employment regulations is essential, as is conducting new hire orientation and onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new employees. The HR Generalist will maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports as needed. Recruitment for open positions is another key responsibility, which includes reviewing resumes, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews. The HR Generalist may also participate in employee relations investigations as needed and perform other duties as assigned to support the HR department and the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • PHR or SPHR certification a plus, but not required.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate leadership behaviors and partner effectively within a dynamic business setting.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills.
