The HR Generalist provides a crucial role in supporting specialized roles within HR such as Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Recruiting, and Employee Professional Development. This position is instrumental in facilitating the onboarding of new ERCOT employees and ensures that company programs and practices are in compliance with Federal and State laws. The HR Generalist works with cross-functional teams to provide analytical and innovative thinking for programs to retain and attract top talent. Key responsibilities include conducting ERCOT's New Hire Orientation to provide new employees with a welcoming and exceptional experience, championing the company's mission, vision, core values, and culture to promote a positive and productive work environment, and serving as the primary point of contact for new hires and HR email inquiries. The HR Generalist is responsible for reviewing new employees' background check reports for completeness, assisting Compensation with annual benchmark survey submissions and analysis of results, and maintaining job descriptions within the company's job description repository. Additionally, this role provides support to the HR Compliance Analyst on departmental audits, maintains ERCOT's enterprise-wide organization charts, and assists with benefits administration and open enrollment. The HR Generalist identifies and implements process improvements to enhance HR efficiency while remaining current with best practices and emerging trends, and obtains experience in all HR department areas by assisting as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field (Required) or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required.
  • PHR Professional in Human Resources (Preferred).
  • SHRM-CP (Preferred).
  • CEBS Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (Preferred).
