About the position

The Human Resource Generalist at Inhabit will support the HR department's daily operations, focusing on onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, and policy enforcement. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth integration of new hires and maintaining organizational standards while collaborating with management to enhance HR processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding new hires and ensure document compliance.
  • Draft and maintain job descriptions in collaboration with general managers.
  • Perform background checks and communicate results to HR management.
  • Follow up with managers regarding post-offer progress and employee start dates.
  • Enter new hire information into HRIS for IT and payroll notifications.
  • Oversee the onboarding process and I-9 verification, processing necessary paperwork.
  • Provide employees with a sense of organizational norms, both formal and informal.
  • Support the Payroll Specialist in processing bi-weekly payroll and completing post-payroll reports.
  • Assist with compensation and benefits planning, including annual enrollment and coverage changes.
  • Coordinate COBRA and benefits for terminated employees and resolve benefits issues.
  • Administer human resource programs related to compensation, benefits, leave, and performance management.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries and refer complex matters to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations, reviewing policies as needed.
  • Stay updated on trends and best practices in HR and employment law.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certifications highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
