About the position

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for managing the daily functions of the Human Resource department, including the oversight, administration, and coordination of employment, employee relations, benefits, complaints, and problem resolution. The HR Generalist will provide assistance and counsel to management on employee relations issues, administer and coordinate approved LOAs, L&I, light duty, and Worker's Compensation programs, and assist in managing employee records and employment documents, including onboarding, benefits, and termination documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Three to five years of prior HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles and practices of human resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism and uphold the company's ethical standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer-centric focus and advanced customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous employee relations experience, including assisting management with the administration of progressive disciplinary policies and investigating and responding to employee concerns.
  • Prior work experience in the manufacturing or distribution industry is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with ADP Payroll, Report Smith, and Attendance Enterprise preferred.
  • Expert user of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
  • PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
