The HR Generalist at ASARCO LLC plays a crucial role in performing essential human resources functions that support the overall operations of the site. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including staffing, payroll support, leave management, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. The HR Generalist is tasked with maintaining accurate employee records and providing comprehensive HR support to ensure a positive and inclusive workplace culture. In this role, the HR Generalist will be involved in talent acquisition, which includes extending job offers and coordinating necessary physicals and MSHA training for all new hires. They will also be responsible for entering employee personnel data, including benefits data, I-9, and tax information, as well as payroll data. Tracking employee leave and engaging in interactive dialogue with employees regarding their leave status is another critical function of this position. The HR Generalist will mediate conflicts, resolve workplace issues, and conduct investigations as needed. Additionally, the HR Generalist will respond to human resource-related inquiries, maintain current knowledge of HR laws, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations. They will assist in new employee onboarding and orientation, maintain employee personnel records, and address employee inquiries and concerns. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for developing, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across the organization. Supporting the performance appraisal process, facilitating training sessions, and analyzing data to identify trends for improvement are also key responsibilities. Furthermore, the HR Generalist will implement and participate in employee engagement initiatives and gather feedback to enhance workplace satisfaction.
