About the position
Abt Electronics has an immediate opening for the position of a Human Resources Generalist. We are a family owned company who has been in business since 1936 and continues to experience strong growth year after year. Abt Electronics specializes in electronics, appliance & furniture sales, installation and servicing all the appliances we sell. We are a perennial winner of the Chicago Tribune's Top Workplace Award. We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, flexible & tech savvy Human Resources Generalist to join our team. If this is you, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
- Maintain records of employee-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates etc.) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
- Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
- Maintain & file workers compensation claims
- General timekeeping duties (correcting timesheets, entering PTO/Paid Leave)
- Assist with new employee orientations
- Aid in supporting the delivery of key HR processes
- Assist the HR team with various research projects and/or special projects
- Other duties as assigned needed based on the organization's needs
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist (at least 3 years)
- Exceptional communication & people skills
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word & familiar with Gmail and its associated applications
- BS/BA in Psychology, Human Resources, or relevant field a plus
- Attention to detail
- Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems (ADP, Ceridian)
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality
- Good time management skills
- SHRM or HRIC certification is a plus
