About the position

As an HR Generalist at Mativ, you will play a crucial role in supporting our employees and managers by serving as the primary contact for HR inquiries and providing comprehensive HR support. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of HR functions, including administrative support, employee engagement, employee relations, and compliance with HR policies and procedures. You will maintain and update employee records in HR databases, ensuring that all personal information, job details, and performance data are accurate and up-to-date. This includes preparing and processing essential HR documents such as employment offer letters and termination paperwork. In addition to administrative tasks, you will assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, helping employees navigate enrollment, changes, and any issues that may arise. You will partner with site leadership to develop and implement engagement strategies aimed at fostering a positive and engaged working environment. Your expertise in employee relations will be vital as you provide guidance to supervisors and managers on disciplinary actions, ensuring consistency and adherence to company policies. You will also be responsible for administering HR policies and programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws. Recruiting will be another key aspect of your role, where you will post job openings, screen resumes, and coordinate the interview process. You will define pre-boarding and onboarding programs to create excitement and prepare new employees for success. Additionally, you will analyze key HR metrics and provide recommendations based on your findings, supporting a culture of continuous improvement in safety and managing leave of absence and medical management processes. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace while supporting the overall HR strategy of Mativ.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for employees and managers to answer inquiries and provide HR support.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR databases, including personal information, job details, and performance data.
  • Prepare and process HR documents, including employment offer letters and termination paperwork.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and communication with employees.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefits and assist in resolving any issues.
  • Partner with site leadership to create and implement engagement strategies designed to maintain a positive, engaged working environment.
  • Provide guidance and support for supervisors and managers regarding discipline/corrective actions to ensure consistency and compliance with policy.
  • Administer HR policies and programs for designated sites; ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws.
  • Post job openings on various job boards and company websites; screen resumes and coordinate the interview process.
  • Define pre-boarding and onboarding programs to build excitement and prepare employees for success.
  • Analyze data regarding key HR metrics and provide recommendations based on results.
  • Accountable for safety performance success and violations within their area; responsible for leave of absence and medical management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience working in human resources.
  • Manufacturing experience is required.
  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM certification preferred.
