About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Heico is a pivotal role responsible for executing a wide range of HR functions that support the business unit. This position works closely with the Human Resources Manager to ensure effective HR operations and compliance. The HR Generalist will manage full cycle recruiting, which includes creating job descriptions, tracking talent acquisition metrics, and conducting exit interviews. A key focus is on fostering an inclusive recruitment process that enhances the candidate experience. The role also involves facilitating new-hire orientation and onboarding, ensuring that new employees are well-integrated into the company culture and operations. In addition to recruitment, the HR Generalist will play a significant role in employee relations by providing guidance to management and support to employees regarding job-related conflicts and problem-solving. This includes developing programs to boost employee engagement, managing recognition and service awards, and conducting regular visits to various workspaces to maintain positive relationships with staff. The HR Generalist will also support training initiatives for employees and management, ensuring that all personnel are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. The position also encompasses HR administration and total rewards management, where the HR Generalist will generate payroll reports, maintain employee files, and ensure compliance with laws and company policies. This includes overseeing benefits administration, conducting annual open enrollment, and managing leave of absence programs. The HR Generalist will work closely with the HR Manager to monitor compliance with wage and hour rules and provide system support for HRIS and benefits-related issues. Overall, this role is integral to maintaining a productive and compliant workplace, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle recruiting including job descriptions, tracking metrics, and conducting exit interviews.
  • Facilitate new-hire orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Administer performance management programs and assist with corrective actions and goal setting.
  • Consult with management to provide HR guidance and support employee relations.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement programs and recognition initiatives.
  • Generate payroll and accounting reports, ensuring compliance with laws and policies.
  • Maintain employee files and ensure confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate benefits administration and manage leave of absence programs.
  • Support training initiatives for employees and management.
  • Monitor compliance with wage and hour rules and assist with HRIS troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management or related field; PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or related industries.
  • Experience with unions and collective bargaining agreements is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Strong analytical skills for presentations and reports.
  • Effective prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
