About the position

The HR Generalist position is based in Salt Lake City, UT, and requires in-office work with the possibility of hybrid flexibility after six months. This role is crucial for facilitating the delivery of day-to-day HR services in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The HR Generalist will serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR topics and will manage employee relations with professionalism and confidentiality. This position involves maintaining accurate and confidential employee records across all internal systems, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with current employment practices. In this role, the HR Generalist will conduct new hire orientations and oversee the onboarding and offboarding processes. They will also assist with payroll as needed and conduct employee background checks and drug screenings in accordance with established policies. The HR Generalist will be responsible for reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory employee training. Additionally, they will administer and execute various human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, leave management, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance management, productivity, and employee recognition. The HR Generalist will maintain the company's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, regularly reviewing and updating internal policies and procedures to reflect any changes in legislation. Staying informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law is essential. The HR Generalist will also handle employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct new hire orientations, as well as onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records that meet the needs of the facility and comply with current employment practices
  • Assist with payroll as needed
  • Conduct employee background checks and drug screens, in accordance with our facility's established policies and procedures
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory employee training
  • Administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance management, productivity, and employee recognition
  • Maintain company compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Review and update internal policies and procedures to maintain compliance with current laws and regulations
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration
  • Minimum 3-5 years of HR experience
  • HRCI or SHRM Certification highly desired
  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state employment-related laws and regulations
  • Payroll experience a plus
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong forward thinking-mentality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to solve problems independently, and make decisions promptly
  • Extreme attention to details and pride in your work
