About the position

As an HR Generalist at our California-based consumer goods manufacturing company, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the human resources department. This position is designed for an experienced and strategic individual who is detail-oriented and passionate about fostering a positive work environment. You will collaborate closely with the HR Manager and other department leaders to ensure that all HR functions operate smoothly and effectively, aligning with the overall strategy of the organization. Your responsibilities will include administering the employee lifecycle processes, which encompass recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding. You will manage employee relations by addressing concerns and resolving conflicts in accordance with company policies. Additionally, you will oversee benefits administration and leave management, ensuring that all HR records are maintained accurately and confidentially. In this role, you will assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, support performance management initiatives, and track employee evaluations and performance improvement plans. You will also collaborate on employee engagement initiatives and diversity and inclusion programs, while staying updated on labor laws to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Furthermore, you will manage various HR projects, including company events and training programs, contributing to the overall success of the HR department and the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding.

  • Maintain and update HR records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Stay updated on labor laws and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, labor laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
