About the position

The HR Generalist at Bob Evans Farms is responsible for providing comprehensive human resources support within a plant environment. This role involves coaching and influencing team members and leaders to effectively implement people plans, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and managing various HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, and payroll processing. The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace while contributing to the company's objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR support for employees and leaders in a plant environment.
  • Coach, support, influence, and enable customer groups to deliver their people plans.
  • Participate in HR-related projects and initiatives.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and recommend best practices.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate hiring for open positions.
  • Assist in developing and executing hiring metrics and updating related reports.
  • Conduct orientation and onboarding activities for new hires.
  • Manage timekeeping activities in Kronos and process plant payroll.
  • Administer various human resources programs and provide additional support as needed.
  • Manage employee communication tools and maintain knowledge of HR trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of increasing generalist responsibility within Human Resources in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects.
