About the position

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for supporting the daily functions of the Human Resource department at the Chandler, AZ facility. This role includes interviewing and hiring staff, administering leave, supporting performance management, and enforcing company policies and practices. The position requires collaboration with departmental managers and external agencies to enhance recruitment efforts and ensure compliance with employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Uses innovative candidate sourcing strategies to improve the diversity and strength of the talent pipeline.
  • Engages and partners with hiring managers and HRBP to understand hiring requirements and set realistic expectations.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with external agencies, colleges, and industry networks to elevate awareness of Heraeus as an employer.
  • Builds and leverages relationships with external resources to understand trends and best practices in recruitment, diversity & inclusion, onboarding, and retention.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ensures background checks and employee eligibility verifications are completed and verified.
  • Facilitates and administers new employee orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Supports HR Business Partner in administering human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave.
  • Supports internal audit of HR related data.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.
  • Handles confidential information with care and ensures compliance with HIPAA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with full-cycle recruiting and sourcing experience.
  • Experience sourcing passive candidates, particularly through LinkedIn and Indeed.
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment law.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate professionally orally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact comfortably and professionally in a fast-paced environment with all levels of candidates and management.
