About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Maximum Quality Foods Inc is responsible for a variety of HR functions including benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, affirmative action, and compliance with employment laws. This role is exempt from overtime provisions and reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform general administrative tasks to support the HR department
• Act as the point of contact for employee inquiries
• Extensively recruit, onboard and schedule interviews as needed
• Maintain time clock, PTO calendar, and ADP Workforce Now portal
• Organize employee's physical and digital personnel files
• Process employment verifications by phone, fax, e-mail and/or mail
• Run Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR) and Background Checks
• Assist with employees' disability, FMLA and Workers' Comp claims
• Collaborate with management to create job descriptions
• Create HR monthly newsletter
• Write daily Union employee's disciplinary actions as needed
• Prepare miscellaneous payroll reports as requested
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a HR Generalist role required
• Must be Bilingual (English and Spanish)
• Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now and/or any other payroll system
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred
• Strong Written and Communication Skills
• Familiarity with HR Compliance and HR Policies and Regulations
• Time Management
