About the position

The HR Generalist position in Arvada, CO, is a permanent, full-time role that plays a crucial part in supporting the HR Department's operations and driving recruitment and retention efforts. The successful candidate will lead recruitment processes in collaboration with Regional Business Unit leaders to understand staffing needs and partner with the Talent Acquisition Team to ensure timely and efficient hiring. This role involves coordinating recruiting efforts with business partners to maintain proper staffing levels, which includes developing employment advertisements and working with third-party staffing partners as necessary. In addition to recruitment, the HR Generalist will support the day-to-day operations of the HR Department by providing advice, assistance, counseling, and follow-up on company policies and procedures. Responsibilities may include the administration of various programs and processes for assigned groups, such as leave administration, exit interviews, HR policies, employee engagement initiatives, new employee orientations, and local outreach efforts. The HR Generalist will also advise and consult with managers regarding employee concerns related to policies, practices, performance management, and terminations, and will be responsible for investigating and resolving employee relations issues as needed. The role requires collaboration to ensure that HR practices align with business needs, making recommendations for changes when appropriate. The HR Generalist will set the implementation of the HR cyclical calendar of events throughout the year, which includes goal setting, annual benefit enrollments, well-being initiatives, and performance evaluations. Ongoing HR support, guidance, and coaching will be provided to managers regarding people plans and programs, and the HR Generalist will facilitate activities related to specific development initiatives to grow talent within the organization. Completing special projects is also a key responsibility, which involves clarifying project objectives, setting timetables, conducting research, and organizing information. The HR Generalist will advise and train managers and employees in various HR and business-related skills, utilizing data and insights to drive business decision-making. Participation in Business Unit staff meetings and regular communication with HR and Operational Partners will ensure alignment of initiatives and activities. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in an HR Generalist capacity or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior construction experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in recruitment and retention initiatives.
  • Strong/Advanced MS Office and Excel skills required.
  • HRIS experience is a must, including custom report writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues without detailed instruction.
  • Demonstrates business acumen and the ability to create people strategies.
  • Technology proponent who uses information to improve decision-making.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team.
  • Skill in project management, planning, organizing, and prioritizing work assignments.
  • Ability to protect confidential and proprietary information.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various policies and data.
  • Ability to develop templates and forms for HR requirements using MS Office/Adobe tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed both in-state and out-of-state.
  • Highly effective communicator.
