About the position

SkyHop Global is a premier ground transportation company that specializes in transporting crew members from top airlines to and from the airport and hotels. We are currently seeking an experienced HR Generalist for our LAX location. The Human Resource Generalist will be responsible for performing HR-related duties at a professional level and will work closely with the VP of HR to support designated geographic regions. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities across several functional areas, including benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment and employment, affirmative action, and compliance with employment law. The HR Generalist will administer various human resource plans and procedures for all personnel within designated locations and assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. This role is crucial in attracting candidates, evaluating resumes, screening candidates for cultural fit, scheduling and coordinating interviews with hiring leaders, and managing the onboarding process. The HR Generalist will oversee the full recruitment cycle to ensure that the company’s staffing requirements are met effectively. In addition to recruitment, the HR Generalist will work to improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, implementing selected solutions, and providing coaching and counseling to both managers and employees. The role also involves maintaining employee-related databases, preparing and analyzing reports necessary for the department and company functions, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. The HR Generalist will partner with station leadership to communicate and ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, programs, and laws, and will conduct investigations related to employee relations concerns and complaints. This position requires a proactive approach to advising leadership on corrective actions necessary to ensure compliance with progressive discipline and performance coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel within designated locations.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for attracting candidates, evaluating resumes, screening candidates for 'company fit', scheduling and coordinating interviews with hiring leaders, and managing the onboarding process.
  • Responsible for full recruitment cycle ensuring company staffing requirements are met.
  • Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
  • Assists VP, HR with various projects to sustain long term growth and special projects as necessary.
  • Maintains employee-related databases.
  • Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company.
  • Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assists HR Director in the development of Human Resources policies for the company regarding employee relations.
  • Partners with station leadership to communicate and ensure compliance with Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws.
  • Conducts investigations related to employee relations concerns and complaints.
  • Advises leadership on corrective actions necessary to ensure compliance with progressive discipline and performance coaching.
  • Assists with the implementation of company safety and health policies, procedures and processes.
  • Ensures all office procedures and office standards are in place as required.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree and five years' human resources generalist/staffing/recruitment experience, or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources and three years human resources generalist/staffing/recruitment experience.
  • Preferred experience working in the transportation industry.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; bilingual is a plus.
  • Must be hungry to grow and improve.
  • Must be available to support a 24/7 environment and be on-call to assist in all issues within designated locations.
  • Willingness to travel to other locations nationally.
