Robert Half is seeking an HR Generalist for our client in Metairie, Louisiana, within the Engineering industry. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing effective recruiting and staffing strategies and providing support to various HR functions. This opportunity offers a short-term contract to full-time employment. As an HR Generalist, you will collaborate with department managers to identify and draft accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria, ensuring that the recruitment process aligns with the organizational needs and industry standards. You will implement efficient recruiting methods tailored to the specific roles and assist with job posting and advertisement processes to keep them current. Your responsibilities will also include screening applications to select qualified candidates, scheduling interviews, and preparing interview questions and other hiring materials. You will attend and participate in college job fairs and recruiting sessions, conduct background checks, drug screenings, and employee eligibility verifications, and assist in scheduling client-required training and site access. Additionally, you will perform various tasks to support the human resource team, including handling benefit census requests, leave discussions, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, and training and development. Maintaining confidentiality when discussing employee absences, health issues, grievances, and other sensitive matters is crucial. Moreover, you will provide support during open enrollments and changes in employee benefits programs, respond to HR-related inquiries promptly, and perform other administrative duties as needed, such as maintaining employee records and sensitive items.
