About the position

The Krusteaz Company is seeking an HR Generalist to join its Human Resources Team. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive HR support, including onboarding, recruiting, training and development, benefits administration, and records management. The HR Generalist will work closely with the HR team to ensure the smooth operation of HR functions and contribute to the overall success of the department. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and possess excellent communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset. In this position, the HR Generalist will serve as a trusted advisor to employees and Plant HR, assisting with day-to-day HR matters, companywide HR initiatives, and addressing policies, procedures, and benefits-related inquiries. Responsibilities include supporting new employee onboarding processes, leading full-cycle corporate recruiting under the guidance of the HR Manager, and streamlining the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews. The HR Generalist will also support the Learning Management System (LMS) in coordination with the Talent Development Manager and assist in various learning and development initiatives. Additional responsibilities include administering employee recognition and tuition reimbursement programs, participating in project teams for annual performance reviews, compensation cycles, and benefits open enrollment, and maintaining HRIS records. The HR Generalist will provide administrative support to HR leadership and prepare employee communications, ensuring that all HR-related information is effectively disseminated. This role also involves providing backup support to the HR Analyst and Front Desk Administrator/HR Assistant as needed, and assisting with well-being and culture crew events and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted advisor to employees and Plant HR on day-to-day HR matters and companywide HR initiatives.
  • Support new employee onboarding, including system tasks, document collection, and orientations.
  • Lead full cycle corporate recruiting, including job postings, coordinating interviews, and making offers.
  • Streamline the offboarding process and conduct exit interviews in coordination with the HR Manager.
  • Support the Learning Management System (LMS) in coordination with the Talent Development Manager.
  • Administer employee recognition programs and tuition reimbursement program.
  • Participate in project teams for the annual performance review cycle, compensation cycle, and benefits open enrollment.
  • Maintain HRIS records through entering new hires and terminations; maintain employee filing system.
  • Provide administrative support to HR leadership as needed.
  • Prepare and send employee communications, including announcements and benefits campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of HR support experience, including recruiting; experience in the food manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Intermediate level of experience with both an HRIS and ATS; experience with UKG is a plus.
  • Strong personal organization skills to manage multiple priorities and take initiative.
  • Proven knowledge of various software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Ability to create and deliver presentation quality materials with attention to style and formatting.
  • Customer service-oriented approach to HR with a sense of urgency in response to requests.
  • High attention to detail, deadlines, follow-through, and follow-up.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively develop and assist with new HR initiatives and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and business writing communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and honesty, with the ability to uphold confidentiality.
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to employment, recruiting, and employee relations.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% when needed.
