About the position

As an HR Generalist at GF Immigration Law - Abogada Julia (GFI), you will be an integral part of our Human Resources department, contributing to the daily operations and ensuring that our HR processes run smoothly. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including managing recruitment and onboarding processes, administering employee benefits, and maintaining accurate employee records. You will serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, assisting in the resolution of workplace issues and supporting various HR initiatives and projects. Your attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and strong interpersonal skills will be essential for your success in this position. In this position, you will assist with all internal and external HR-related matters, participate in the development of organizational guidelines and procedures, and recommend strategies to motivate employees. You will also play a key role in the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference and background checks, and issuing offer letters and employment contracts. Coordination with various departments, such as IT and Training, will be necessary to ensure new hires have the resources they need to succeed from day one. You will perform orientations, manage employee databases, and prepare reports on HR activities, all while keeping up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices. Your contributions will help foster a supportive and collaborative work environment, making GFI a great place to work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all internal and external HR-related matters.
  • Participate in developing organizational guidelines and procedures.
  • Recommend strategies to motivate employees.
  • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks, and background checks, and issuing offer letter employment contracts.
  • Coordinate with IT and Training Departments for new hire access and training.
  • Identify in partnership with supervisors/managers the seating arrangement for new hires/position changes.
  • Coordinate with new hires for their first-day expectations.
  • Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
  • Complete the i-9 and confirm that all required new hire documentation is completed within the first two days.
  • Coordinate with the building management office for parking access card activation and termination.
  • Follow up with new hires for benefits enrollment deadlines.
  • Investigate complaints brought forward by employees and work with the HR Director to identify the best course of action.
  • Coordinate employee development plans and performance management.
  • Generate performance review dates report for supervisors/managers.
  • Follow up to confirm performance reviews are done in a timely manner and following the company's protocol.
  • Manage the organization's employee database and prepare reports.
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
  • Assist with budget monitoring and payroll.
  • Generate overtime reports for managers on a monthly basis.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Coordinate and execute employee engagement/appreciation initiatives.
  • Order annual employment posters for all U.S locations.
  • Conduct Exit interview and termination of employment in all HR systems.
  • Notify IT and Training Departments of employment termination.
  • Maintain employee files up to date.
  • Run payroll for all US employees and contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field (preferred).
  • 1-2 years of experience in HR.
  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Deep knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Superb computer literacy with capability in email, Google environment, and related HR software.
  • Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
