About the position

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our human resources team. The successful candidate will have a well-rounded human resource background, with a strong focus on leave administration and benefits. This role will be responsible for managing our company's employee leave and benefits policies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of labor legislation, and ensuring our organization remains fully compliant with relevant legal requirements. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in implementing and managing the company's leave programs, including FMLA, disability leave, and extended leave of absence, ensuring strict compliance with relevant laws. Additionally, the position involves overseeing and administering employee benefit programs, including life, disability, health insurance, and 401k plans, while assisting employees with benefit-related questions and resolving issues in a timely manner. The HR Generalist will also manage leave and benefits record-keeping, ensuring the accuracy of data, and conduct benefits orientations to explain the company's benefit policy to employees. Ensuring the organization's compliance with local, state, and federal regulations is a key responsibility, along with assisting with the performance management and termination process. The role requires participation in developing organizational guidelines and procedures, as well as staying updated with current leave and benefits best practices, trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and managing the company's leave programs, including FMLA, disability leave, and an extended leave of absence, in strict compliance with relevant laws.
  • Overseeing and administering employee benefit programs including life, disability, health insurance, and 401k plans.
  • Assisting employees with benefit-related questions and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Managing leave and benefits record-keeping and ensuring the accuracy of data.
  • Conducting benefits orientations and explaining the company's benefit policy to employees.
  • Ensuring the organization's compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assisting with the performance management and termination process.
  • Participating in developing organizational guidelines and procedures.
  • Staying updated with current leave and benefits best practices, trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist, preferably with leave and benefits specialization.
  • Knowledge of HR functions including pay & benefits, recruitment, etc.
  • Outstanding knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to HR.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, databases, and MS Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current certification in HR (SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.) is a plus.
