About the position

Air Systems Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to join our team in San Jose, CA. This full-time position is a salary role that reports directly to the HR Director. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in maintaining the administrative duties and overall operations of the HR department. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities across multiple areas of Human Resources, including recruitment and onboarding, annual reporting for ACA and AAP, organizational development, employee relations, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. The HR Generalist will be involved in performing recruitment activities such as applicant tracking, resume screening, and processing drug screens and background checks. Additionally, this role will assist in executing and implementing training, onboarding, and internship programs, ensuring that new hires are effectively integrated into the company. The HR Generalist will also conduct benefits enrollment for eligible employees and assist with the administration of health, dental, voluntary life, and vision benefits. In collaboration with the HR Director, the HR Generalist will generate official internal documents, maintain both physical and digital employee files, and monitor employee morale through engagement initiatives. This position requires a proactive approach to processing complaints and taking appropriate disciplinary actions when necessary, ensuring compliance with all relevant employment laws, including FMLA, CFRA, AAP, ACA, and California Pay Data regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Human Resources, with at least 3-5 years of progressive experience in various HR functions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform recruitment activities such as applicant tracking, resume screening, processing drug screens, and background checks.
  • Assist with executing and implementing training, onboarding, and internship programs.
  • Conduct benefits enrollment for eligible employees; assist with benefit administration including health, dental, voluntary life, vision.
  • Assist HR Director with projects and assignments as needed.
  • Generate official internal documents such as offer letters and appointment letters.
  • Maintain physical and digital files along with other records.
  • Collaborate with managers for performance improvement plans.
  • Monitor employee morale and company culture through engagement initiatives.
  • Process complaints and take appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, administer FMLA, CFRA, AAP, ACA, CA Pay Data, and other regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience in all fields of HR including recruitment and onboarding, organizational development, and employee relations.
  • Understanding of personnel and compliance records management.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook).
