About the position

Hanon Systems Alabama Corp is seeking an energetic, personable, and knowledgeable Human Resources Generalist. This position is primarily responsible for providing a full range of day-to-day HR support for specified business units. The HR Generalist will be involved in various HR functions, ensuring that the organization effectively manages its human resources in compliance with legal requirements and best practices. This role is 100% on-site, emphasizing the importance of direct interaction with employees and management to foster a positive work environment. The HR Generalist will initiate, coordinate, maintain, and track enrollment for various benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. They will also be responsible for processing and maintaining leave records, tax levies, and garnishments. The role includes performing routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including recruiting, onboarding, exits, compensation, leaves of absence, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, recognition and morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development. In addition, the HR Generalist will assist with the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions, collaborating with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for openings. They will maintain human resource information system records and compile reports from the database. The HR Generalist will work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. They will also develop and analyze trends and metrics to create solutions, programs, and policies, manage and resolve employee relations issues, and conduct thorough investigations when necessary. This position requires maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as staying updated on trends and best practices in human resources.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5 years of HR experience required.
  • Experience in compensation and benefits required.
  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
  • Experience with SuccessFactors, ADP, Kronos, etc. required.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including recruiting, compensation and benefits practices, and employee relations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
