Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist in Bronx, NY, provides a wide variety of both complex and routine HR administrative services. This role is essential in assisting with day-to-day Human Resources functions across several key areas, including Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Employee Relations, Recruiting, Training and Development, and Employment and Compliance. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of HR practices and the ability to manage various HR-related tasks effectively. The salary for the Human Resources Generalist is set at $56,000 annually, based on relevant experience. The Generalist will manage the organizational-wide position control system to ensure adherence to the annual budget, accurately maintain staffing levels, and appropriately track vacancies. This includes managing and updating job postings across various platforms to reflect current job vacancies accurately. The Generalist will also play a key role in the implementation and upgrades of new HRIS and Payroll systems, ensuring that all employee and consultant status changes are processed accurately in the HRIS, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and transfers. In addition, the Generalist will be responsible for managing the 1199 SEIU longevity increase process, calculating increase amounts as stipulated by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), and processing approved increases. They will also handle the co-pay reimbursement process for 1199 SEIU members, reviewing medical receipts for eligibility and processing monthly reimbursement registers. Monthly sanctions and exclusions screening of employees and vendors will also be part of the responsibilities, ensuring compliance with regulations and reporting any exclusions to the Director of Human Resources. The role requires producing various HR-related reports for compliance tracking and maintaining knowledge of existing and proposed federal and state labor laws to ensure compliance. The Generalist will actively participate in departmental and organizational meetings, trainings, and workshops as required, contributing to a collaborative and compliant HR environment.
