About the position

The HR Generalist at ITW will lead HR operations and support strategic HR initiatives, acting as a coach and advisor to managers on various HR topics. This role involves managing talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and compliance with HR regulations, while also providing analytical support and maintaining employee data in the HRIS system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the execution of HR Operations and support strategic HR initiatives.
  • Act as an advisor and provide technical expertise in all aspects of the Human Resources function.
  • Support the ITW performance management cycle, advising on goal setting and performance reviews.
  • Manage talent acquisition activities and advise on market compensation requirements.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts from job scoping to the offer phase.
  • Provide guidance on day-to-day employee relations issues.
  • Support leave management for disability and workers compensation.
  • Organize and conduct new hire orientation to create a positive first impression.
  • Maintain employee data in the HRIS system and prepare reports.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to assist with proposals and presentations.
  • Prepare employee communication documents related to various HR processes.
  • Work with ITW Corporate Human Resources or third-party providers on employee life cycle processes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions.
  • Participate in the development of the Affirmative Action Plan and ensure compliance with legal postings.
  • Support initiatives related to Safety and OSHA compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or Psychology required.
  • SHRM, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in HR regulations and practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong facilitation skills.
  • Good knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle confidential business and employee information with discretion.
  • Ability to influence and motivate action within the organization.
