About the position

Adecco is assisting one of their top clients with their search for a HR Generalist in Tuscaloosa, AL. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in supporting the human resources functions within the organization, particularly in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. This position requires a strong understanding of human resources practices, business administration, and recruiting. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll systems such as Kronos and PeopleSoft, and will be responsible for addressing employee relations concerns effectively. The HR Generalist will also need to be flexible with their work schedule, as the Tuscaloosa Plant operates on three shifts, and HR specialists will rotate to cover shifts as needed. The HR Generalist will report directly to the Plant HR Manager and will be expected to work collaboratively with other HR team members to ensure smooth operations. The role demands excellent communication and people skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have a background in labor law and experience in union avoidance strategies. The position is designed for individuals who can multitask and handle various HR responsibilities efficiently. A bachelor's degree in a related field, along with three to five years of generalist experience, is preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Support HR functions in the automotive and manufacturing sectors.
  • Address employee relations concerns effectively.
  • Manage payroll using Kronos and PeopleSoft systems.
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding new employees.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Provide support in union avoidance strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Plant HR Manager and other HR team members.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in human resources or related field.
  • GED/High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with payroll systems, specifically Kronos and PeopleSoft.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and union avoidance strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Automotive/Manufacturing experience highly preferred.
