About the position

Charter One is seeking a dedicated HR Generalist to join our team in Mesa, AZ. As a full-time HR Generalist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to provide comprehensive education management services to charter schools across the country. Our organization prides itself on its extensive knowledge of charter school operations, including academics, finance, human resources, information technology, and marketing. By managing the day-to-day HR functions, you will enable client school boards to focus on governance and policy issues, ensuring that the vision and mission of the schools are effectively implemented. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining excellent customer service standards and addressing any questions or concerns that arise. You will embody a positive attitude and a willingness to assist others, fostering a supportive environment for potential candidates and current employees. Your duties will include interacting with candidates, completing new hire paperwork, and acting as a liaison with the Division President to secure position and salary approvals. Additionally, you will compile and maintain candidate files, verify credentials, and assist with data compilation for state and federal audits. This role requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and solve problems as they arise. We are looking for candidates who are detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills. While a bachelor's degree in a human resources-related field and at least one year of HR experience are preferred, we encourage all interested candidates to apply, especially those who are willing to obtain an IVP fingerprint clearance card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures excellent customer service is maintained and questions and concerns are escalated properly.
  • Shows a great attitude, a 'Yes' mentality, and an 'eager to help' demeanor.
  • Interacts and communicates with potential candidates and future employees.
  • Signs contracts and agreements and completes new hire paperwork with new employees to complete the onboarding process.
  • Acts as liaison with Division President to ensure position and salary approval.
  • Compiles and maintains all potential candidate files.
  • Verifies credentials of all potential candidates.
  • Maintains all current and terminated employee files.
  • Assists with compiling data for state and federal audits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in HR-related field (preferred)
  • At least 1 year of HR experience (preferred)

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with payroll and HRIS systems
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Card
