About the position

The HR Generalist at Blueroot Health Inc. is a pivotal role within the Human Resources department, reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources. This full-time position is designed for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who will manage a variety of human resources functions that are essential to the organization. The HR Generalist will oversee recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance with employment laws, and benefits administration. This role requires a strong communicator who can effectively engage with employees at all levels and ensure that HR practices align with the company's strategic goals. In the recruitment and onboarding process, the HR Generalist will manage the full-cycle recruitment, which includes job postings, candidate screening, conducting interviews, and facilitating the onboarding process for new hires. Payroll processing is another critical responsibility, where the HR Generalist will enter payroll information, including hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Employee relations are a key focus, as the HR Generalist will address employee inquiries, resolve conflicts, and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures. The role also involves assisting with performance management, including the performance appraisal process and employee development programs. Compliance is paramount, and the HR Generalist will maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, ensuring that the company’s practices are in line with legal requirements and best practices. Additionally, the HR Generalist will support the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans, and will manage the HRIS system to ensure accurate employee records. Training and development initiatives will also fall under this role, as the HR Generalist will coordinate and deliver training sessions on various HR topics. The position requires the preparation and analysis of HR metrics and reports to support decision-making and enhance employee engagement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Process payroll for all employees, entering payroll information including hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Address employee inquiries, resolve conflicts, and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the performance appraisal process and employee development programs.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and review policies and practices to ensure compliance.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Maintain and manage the HRIS system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions on various HR topics and company policies.
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to support decision-making.
  • Organize employee engagement activities and manage necessary budget approvals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in HR roles, preferably as an HR Generalist.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and regulations.
  • Payroll experience and proficiency in HRIS.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in professional writing skills.
  • Highly organized and reliable with a proven ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
