Our industry is in the midst of unprecedented growth and shortages of computer chips. The HR Generalist will be an integral part of our exciting growth at our Hayward, CA facility. This role will encompass all aspects of human resources, with a primary focus on being an on-site point-of-contact for management and employees, supporting them in various HR functions and providing generalist level expertise. In our smaller company factories, this position may also perform office management tasks and/or support multiple sites. The HR Generalist will report to both the HR Lead and the factory Director of Operations (DOO). This is an on-site position during regular business hours with no flexibility for remote or hybrid work. The role may require infrequent travel (up to 15%) to other company factories. Key responsibilities include administering and executing human resource programs such as onboarding, payroll, compensation, employee relations, performance management, and training and development. The HR Generalist will also provide day-to-day HR operations support, assist in the recruiting function, respond to employment-related inquiries, maintain compliance with employment laws, and stay updated on HR trends and best practices. This position requires a proactive approach to managing HR functions and supporting the overall employee experience within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including onboarding, payroll, compensation, and employee relations.
  • Provides day-to-day HR operations support including employee orientation, HR policies, benefits administration, and compliance management.
  • Supports the recruiting function by screening and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex matters to appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, reviewing policies and practices to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, industrial relations, labor relations, communications, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience, preferably 4-5+ years of progressive experience.
  • HR experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems; Paycom experience highly preferred.
