About the position

IT Concepts, Inc. (ITC) is seeking a Junior HR Administrator to join our growing HR team. The Human Resources (HR) Generalist will play a crucial role in managing the department's daily functions, which encompass employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and the enforcement of company policies and practices. This position serves as the main HR point of contact for all HR-related inquiries, ensuring that both internal and external customers receive excellent support. The HR Generalist will monitor and respond promptly to HR email and phone line inquiries, establishing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with management and employees alike. In addition to providing customer service, the HR Generalist will administer new hire onboarding and employee recognition programs, participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, and provide guidance on HR policies. The role also involves handling employment-related inquiries, reconciling benefit invoices, and administering leave requests. The HR Generalist will conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications, partner with Payroll for payroll audits, and implement performance management platforms. Furthermore, the position requires analyzing trends and metrics in collaboration with HR to develop effective solutions, programs, and policies while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. This role is essential in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that the HR department operates efficiently and effectively. The Junior HR Administrator will also perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the HR team and the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Main HR point of contact for all HR-related questions and concerns; monitor and promptly respond to HR email and phone line inquiries.
  • Provides excellent customer service support to internal and external customers; establishes and maintains strong collaborative relationships with management and all employees.
  • Administers new hire onboarding and employee recognition programs.
  • Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and referring complex and/or confidential matters.
  • Responds to general benefits inquiries from employees including enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts.
  • Reconciles benefit invoices and administers leave requests.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Partners with Payroll to complete payroll audits, payroll codes, and required communications.
  • Administers and implements performance management platform.
  • Conducts department-level meetings.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the capacity to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular emphasis on a comprehensive understanding of Excel spreadsheets, formulas, and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficient with HRIS technology (preferably UKG/UltiPro) and the ability to quickly learn new HR systems and technology.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility, proactiveness, and willingness to wear multiple hats in supporting all areas of human resources.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of human resource generalist experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP and/or PHR certification preferred.
  • Prior experience with Government Contracting is preferred.
  • UKG/UltiPro experience is preferred.
