About the position

The HR Generalist at Golden State Foods is responsible for overseeing the daily administration of human resources functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal and state labor regulations. This role involves providing support and guidance to employees and management, maintaining HR records, and participating in recruitment and selection processes.

Responsibilities

• Provides information and counseling to employees on various HR topics including benefits, policies, and safety regulations.
• Directs the maintenance of human resources materials to ensure compliance and confidentiality.
• Disseminates HR policies and procedures to ensure employee awareness and compliance.
• Provides guidance to managers regarding HR policies and practices.
• Recruits and selects employees by managing job advertisements, screening applications, and conducting interviews.
• Handles higher-level HR issues in the absence of the HR Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field.
• 3 to 6 years of work experience in general human resources.
• PHR and/or SPHR certification may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in union facilities and handling grievances.
• Knowledge of government policies and regulations related to HR programs.
