About the position

Great and exciting things are always happening at ETSU, and the Office of Human Resources is no exception. We are looking to add a new Human Resources (HR) Generalist to the team. The Human Resources (HR) Generalist reports to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner while supporting the HR Business Partner (HRBP) model by ensuring HRBPs have the support, information, and resources required to perform their role. The HR Generalist provides independent guidance and facilitation to university clients, other HR staff, and/or members of the general public in the interpretation and application of core HR operating policies, guidelines, procedures, systems, and documentation and responds to day-to-day HR-related questions, needs, and problem resolution. Provides advice and connects departments to resources, services, and information. The value of employment at ETSU goes far beyond salary. Responsibilities

  • Support HR Business Partners by providing necessary information and resources.
  • Respond to day-to-day HR-related questions and needs from university clients and staff.
  • Interpret and apply core HR operating policies and guidelines.
  • Connect departments to appropriate resources and services.
  • Facilitate problem resolution related to HR issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or relevant field and two (2) years of experience in HR and/or benefits administration, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and processes.
  • Knowledge of current federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study.
  • Experience/knowledge of TBR/state benefits programs.
  • Experience at a Higher Education Institution.
