The HR Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the human resource responsibilities for the site. This includes administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist is the dedicated resource handling employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development and employment. They initiate, lead and support HR practices and initiatives that provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture. Safety is our number one priority. Recognized as site leader for application of HR policies, practices and programs. Partner with site leadership to provide advice and support for all policy/employee related matters. Ensure local compliance to the established E2 Optics compensation and benefit plans. Support talent acquisition and recruitment processes to target qualified candidates and promote employee retention. Coordinate employee onboarding process, develop and implement ongoing training & development programs aligned with defined career paths, employee development goals and critical business needs. Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves, benefits, compensation and resolve any issues that may arise. Lead investigations: compiling reports and statements. Determining best practices for next actions and partnering with HR Director for final implementation. Promote E2 Optics HR policies and programs to foster a people-centric culture and conflict-free workplace. Drive development of site leadership through purposeful coaching, mentoring and training to enhance the local employee performance management process. Collaborate with site leadership to implement annual engagement plan and associated budgets. Gather and analyze employment data relevant to tracking and improving execution of HR roles and responsibilities and conduct problem solving to resolve issues driving lagging indicators. Site led to ensure effective and timely execution of annual employee performance review process and follow up semi-annual feedback meeting to discuss developmental progress. Supports execution of ‘touch base' meetings between people leaders and new employees at 30d and 90d post start date intervals. Forward employee information and records to corporate in accordance with existing policies and employment/labor laws. Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying motivational strategies and organizing team building activities. Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local labor regulations. Demonstrate relationship management skills and effective consultation strategies. Drive continuous improvement activities and support Lean initiatives across the site to align with deployed corporate strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Leadership or similar study.
  • 7+ years Human Resource experience in progressively responsible roles will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience administering HR policies in an industrial or manufacturing setting preferred.
  • PHR (Professional Human Resources) certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and collaborative skills.
  • Exceptional problem solving, decision making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Practical understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of employment/labor laws.
  • Tactful, professional demeanor with ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, internal and external parties.
  • Strong attention to detail with organizational, record-keeping, time management, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities as necessary.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
