About the position

The Human Resource Generalist is an integral part of the AWG Support Center Human Resources team, responsible for supporting various HR initiatives that include employee relations, leaves administration, performance management, talent acquisition, coaching, and employee training. This role is designed for a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and positive environment. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist will play a key role in ensuring that HR programs are effectively communicated and implemented across the organization. In this position, the HR Generalist will lead the Leaves Administration process for the AWG Support Center team, which involves tracking and maintaining records for leaves of absence and assisting employees with their leave situations. The role also requires collaboration with assigned client groups to identify process improvements and deliver solutions that support decisions related to talent management, employee relations, and employee leaves. Additionally, the HR Generalist will assist employees with benefits inquiries and work closely with the Benefits team to resolve any concerns. The HR Generalist will also be involved in the summer internship program, respond to employee relations issues in partnership with the HR Manager, and handle payroll-related entries, including new hires and terminations. This role supports the annual performance management process, talent planning process, and employee engagement survey, and participates in the Employee Committee to coordinate employee activities and communications. Maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating good judgment in all matters is essential for this position, as the HR Generalist will be a key member of the AWG Human Resources team, emphasizing cooperation, integrity, and tact in all interactions with members, teammates, and business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to communicate and implement HR programs.
  • Lead the Leaves Administration for the AWG Support Center team.
  • Track and maintain records for leaves of absence and assist employees with their leave situations.
  • Work with assigned client groups to identify process improvements and deliver solutions related to talent and employee relations.
  • Assist employees with benefits questions and partner with the Benefits team to resolve concerns.
  • Play a key role in the summer internship program.
  • Respond to employee relations issues in partnership with the HR Manager.
  • Perform entry of salary and payroll-related changes, including new hires and terminations.
  • Enter data into the KRONOS timekeeping system and finalize weekly non-exempt payroll.
  • Support the annual company-wide performance management process, Talent Planning Process, and Employee Engagement Survey.
  • Coordinate employee activities and communications as part of the Employee Committee.
  • Ensure confidentiality on privacy matters and demonstrate good judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field highly desired.
  • Minimum 5 years of Human Resources or related experience.
  • Previous Leaves Administration work strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal and State labor laws required.
  • Knowledge of employee benefit programs desired.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems; KRONOS and Oracle experience preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and professional discretion.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must successfully complete and pass a background check and drug screen.
