About the position

The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources department by assisting in various HR functions such as recruitment, employee orientation, compliance with labor laws, and benefits administration. This position is focused on maintaining a quality workforce and promoting a positive employment philosophy within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruiting, screening, interviewing, and performing background checks for applicants.
  • Refer qualified candidates to appropriate management personnel.
  • Plan, organize, and present new employee orientation programs.
  • Promote employee involvement throughout the plant.
  • Update computerized personnel databases in compliance with laws.
  • Maintain accurate service records for active and inactive employees.
  • Compile and maintain affirmative action reports and other required reports.
  • Develop and write policies and procedures affecting employees.
  • Make job offers to salary and hourly candidates.
  • Orient new employees on plant policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Monitor employee personnel transactions such as layoffs and transfers.
  • Administer the benefits program and resolve employee inquiries.
  • Monitor the performance of HR Administrative Assistant and HR Assistant.
  • Coordinate with managers for effective implementation of HR policies.
  • Assist in confidential HR projects and administration of merit budgets.
  • Coordinate FMLA/FLA leaves for employees.
  • Coordinate monthly reports for the HR Department.
  • Coordinate necessary training for all employees.
  • Coordinate special plant events and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years in a similar HR position.
  • Strong working knowledge of personnel systems.
