The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the HR department by managing day-to-day HR activities, supporting recruitment processes, handling employee relations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. This position is essential for maintaining a positive work environment and fostering employee engagement. The HR Generalist will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall effectiveness of the HR function within the organization. In addition to managing HR-related tickets using JIRA, the HR Generalist will conduct regular floor walks to engage with employees and address any concerns they may have. This proactive approach helps to build trust and rapport with staff, ensuring that their needs are met. The role also involves assisting in organizing and coordinating company meetings and events, which are vital for team cohesion and communication. The HR Generalist will provide support in the recruitment process, including scheduling interviews and managing candidate communications, ensuring a smooth and efficient hiring process. They will also assist in the creation and distribution of the company newsletter, keeping employees informed about important updates and events. Other responsibilities include managing 401k enrollments and updates, maintaining HR information systems, facilitating new employee onboarding and orientation programs, and handling unemployment claims and verification of employment requests. The HR Generalist will oversee and coordinate safety training programs, administer employee service award programs, and conduct salary surveys to analyze compensation data, ensuring competitive pay structures. Additionally, the HR Generalist will manage relationships with contractors, including contract negotiations and performance evaluations, administer leave of absence programs, and handle worker's compensation claims and related documentation. They will also maintain OSHA logs and ensure compliance with safety regulations, coordinate employee benefit enrollments and changes, and develop, update, and enforce company policies and procedures. Monitoring and managing Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) for employees as required is also part of this role.
