About the position

The HR Generalist at American Packaging Corporation (APC) plays a crucial role in managing various human resources functions, including benefit administration, compliance, recruitment, employee relations, and safety programs. This position is essential for maintaining employee records, supporting safety initiatives, and coordinating employee programs, contributing to a positive workplace culture and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support and participate in safety training and the STOP Safety Program.
• Maintain all employee personal information, including HIPPA and personnel files.
• Generate monthly highlights related to overtime, absenteeism, safety, and turnover.
• Act as the point of contact for employees regarding benefit-related questions.
• Assist with new employee orientations and back up the HR Business Partner.
• Enroll benefit-eligible employees in 401(k) and life insurance programs.
• Coordinate onsite benefit meetings and compliance measures for various programs.
• Coordinate new employee orientations, onboarding, and terminations.
• Chair or co-chair company-wide employee special events and assist in coordinating employee programs.
• Partner with HR Manager to research and communicate HR policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum Associates Degree (AA) in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience supporting a manufacturing location with 400+ employees is preferred.
• Familiarity with Paylocity HR system is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Proficiency in M/S Office, especially Excel for charts and graphs.
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
