This position is designed for a professional who can handle sensitive employee and business information with confidentiality and integrity. The HR Generalist will be involved in various aspects of employee relations, training, and the development of departmental goals and objectives. The role requires a proactive approach to managing employee inquiries and promoting effective communication between management and staff. In this role, the HR Generalist will respond to inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring that all employees are informed and treated fairly. The position also involves motivating managers and supervisors to maintain consistent and equitable treatment of all employees, which is crucial for promoting a harmonious workplace. The HR Generalist will assist in maintaining a union-free environment and will be responsible for the development and maintenance of confidential employee files, information, records, and reports. A significant aspect of this role is the use of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), including platforms such as ADP, KRONOS, and SAP. The HR Generalist will assist with annual benefit enrollment and will coordinate with outside providers to deliver essential employer/employee services. Additionally, the HR Generalist will conduct employee investigations as needed and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and laws. Participation in HR staff meetings and other scheduled meetings is also a requirement, as is the maintenance and coordination of employee recognition programs to foster a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Assist in motivating managers/supervisors to ensure consistent, equal, and fair treatment of all employees.
  • Promote effective manager/employee relations.
  • Assist in maintaining a union-free workplace.
  • Develop and maintain confidential employee files, information, records, and reports.
  • Utilize Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) including ADP, KRONOS, SAP, etc.
  • Assist with annual benefit enrollment.
  • Contract with outside providers to provide employer/employee services.
  • Conduct employee investigations as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations/laws.
  • Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs.
  • Participate in HR staff meetings and attend other meetings as required/scheduled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in Human Resources or a 2-year degree in Human Resources with 5 years of experience.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of ATS and HRIS systems highly desirable but not required.
  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification desired but not required.
