About the position

Robert Half is welcoming a proficient HR Generalist to become an integral part of our client's team based in the New Brunswick, New Jersey area. As an HR Generalist, your primary focus will be on managing daily human resources tasks including employee relations, training, safety, labor relations, and maintaining employee records. This role is crucial in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring compliance with various HR policies and regulations. You will act as a liaison, fostering open communication between employees and corporate leadership, and oversee daily operations of human resources, with a focus on compensation and benefits. In this position, you will coordinate employee leaves, including disability, maternity, and FMLA, ensuring all necessary paperwork and information is provided. Maintaining confidentiality of employee personnel and medical files is essential. You will advise supervisors on disciplinary action in accordance with corporate policies and procedures and administer policies according to executive level direction. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in staffing by assisting in candidate selection, placing employment advertisements, and conducting interviews. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring all employee, medical, OSHA, and other applicable records and documents are correctly retained, resolving any employee inquiries and complaints, and maintaining up-to-date safety and training information. You will coordinate all Worker's Compensation claims, ensuring appointments are kept and employees are eligible to return to work. Furthermore, you will supervise the Recruiter through coaching and review of their duties and phone calls, collaborating with the Medical Director, Lab Supervisor, and Safety Compliance officer to maintain compliance with CLIA/CAP guidelines.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is beneficial.
  • Strong skills in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now.
  • Proficiency in ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode is required.
  • Experience with Ceridian and Dayforce software is essential.
  • Knowledge of Benefit Functions is necessary.
  • Excellent Communication skills are required.
  • Compliance knowledge and experience is a must.
  • Expertise in Employee Relations is needed.
  • Familiarity with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is required.
  • Ability to effectively manage tasks and meet deadlines is necessary.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and act in the company's best interest.
  • Open to continuous learning and skill development.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving is essential.
