As an HR Generalist at Hollywood Casino Joliet, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant workplace culture that emphasizes fun, collaboration, and growth. You will work closely with HR Business Partners to address the needs of various departments, ensuring that our workforce is engaged, productive, and aligned with our company values. Your responsibilities will include supporting both internal and external recruitment efforts, managing open job requisitions, and pre-screening candidates to build a robust talent pool. You will develop sourcing strategies for open roles and collaborate with property management to enhance work relationships, boost morale, and improve retention rates. Additionally, you will facilitate training programs, including New Hire Orientation and supervisory development training, to ensure our employees are well-equipped to deliver exceptional service. In this role, you will also be responsible for maintaining effective internal communications through various channels, including newsletters and social media. You will analyze HR data to identify trends and make strategic recommendations regarding turnover, recruitment, and employee engagement. Responsibilities

  • Partner with HR Business Partners to meet departmental needs.
  • Support internal and external recruitment efforts for the property.
  • Manage open job requisitions and pre-screen potential candidates.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for open roles.
  • Work closely with property management to improve work relationships and increase retention.
  • Facilitate training programs including New Hire Orientation and Customer Service training.
  • Develop and maintain internal communications through various channels.
  • Conduct assessments on the success of communication initiatives and make recommendations.
  • Attend training and meetings as required.
  • Collect and analyze HR data to identify trends and make strategic suggestions.
  • Assist with the design and execution of engagement and retention events.
  • Promote superior customer service in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all departmental matters.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and report potential issues to management.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to create a fun experience for guests and team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or related field required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of HR or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • PHR certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a labor environment with union contracts preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent and literate in English.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Experience with iCiMS and UltiPro is a plus.
  • Ability to work with various levels of the organization to develop and influence culture.
  • Highly effective interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and the public.
  • Exceptional customer service focus with attention to quality results.
  • Knowledge of state, local, and federal labor laws and regulations related to HR.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment.
  • Ability to interact with guests and resolve problems diplomatically.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends as needed.
