About the position

Coastal Palms Nursing & Rehabilitation in Portland, TX is seeking a dynamic HR Generalist to join our skilled nursing community. This role is pivotal in supporting our HR operations, which encompass a wide range of functions including recruiting, payroll management, compliance with HR policies, and fostering positive employee relations. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for implementing HR policies and procedures, managing employee relations issues, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Your expertise in HRIS systems will be essential in maintaining accurate employee records and streamlining HR operations. Responsibilities

  • Implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Manage employee relations issues and provide guidance to staff and management.
  • Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
  • Maintain accurate employee records using HRIS systems and ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in payroll management and ensure timely processing of payroll activities.
  • Support training and development initiatives for staff to enhance their skills and career growth.
  • Facilitate performance management processes and provide support to managers in conducting evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; or at least 3 years of experience in a professional HR position in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and compliance regulations.
  • Experience in the skilled nursing or healthcare industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and payroll management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is a plus.
  • Experience with employee engagement initiatives and programs.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and regulations specific to the healthcare industry.
