About the position

The HR Generalist at Brillient Corporation will play a crucial role in supporting the HR Manager and managing day-to-day HR operations for the corporate headquarters and select offsite contract teams. This position is designed for a professional who is adept at handling various HR functions, particularly in benefits administration, employee onboarding and offboarding, and compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist will serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries, ensuring that employees receive the necessary support and guidance regarding their benefits and HR processes. In this role, the HR Generalist will be responsible for administering employee benefits, which includes processing enrollments, terminations, and changes, as well as managing 401(k) rollovers and distributions. The position requires excellent customer service skills to establish and maintain strong relationships with both management and employees. The HR Generalist will also oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring they receive proper orientation, benefits enrollment, and training on HR systems. Additionally, the HR Generalist will manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews and updates in the HR information system (HRIS). The role involves creating and maintaining employee records, assisting with performance management programs, and ensuring compliance with various government regulations and company policies. The HR Generalist will also support the HR team with employee relations concerns and other projects as assigned, contributing to a positive workplace culture and effective HR operations.

Responsibilities

  • Administration of benefits including processing enrollments, terminations, changes, 401(k) rollovers, distributions, billing, and compliance auditing.
  • Provide excellent customer service support to internal and external customers.
  • Manage the new employee onboarding process including orientation, communications, benefits enrollment, and systems training.
  • Administer employee offboarding including coordination with other departments, vendors, and exit interview coordination.
  • Create and update employee records within the HRIS; evaluate, analyze, audit, and maintain job-related data.
  • Assist with the Company's performance management program including annual appraisals and 30-60-90-days reviews/surveys.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government laws, rules, and regulations and Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure required filings/testing and notices are submitted and distributed in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with drafting Company communication for HR related matters.
  • Provide support to the HR team and employee population regarding employee relations concerns and projects/programs as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum two (2) to five (5) years of direct experience in HR roles.
  • PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • General knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing employment and benefits administration.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Proficient with or ability to quickly learn HR systems, preferably Paylocity.
  • Trustworthy with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience working in the government contracting industry, specifically knowledge of Service Contract Act (SCA).
  • Experience with HRIS systems for at least 2 years.
