About the position

Echoing Hills Village, Inc. is seeking an HR Generalist for its Stark/Summit Region to facilitate the daily operations and activities of Human Resources. This role is essential in supporting the organization's mission, purpose, and core values by ensuring compliance and developing policies and procedures. The HR Generalist will work closely with the Corporate Director of Human Resources and the Regional Director, collaborating with other leadership and corporate team members to enhance the HR function within the region. The HR Generalist will lead the regional recruitment strategy, which includes attending career fairs, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and selecting the best candidates for various positions. This position is also responsible for coordinating pre-employment activities, orientation, onboarding, and training for all new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. Additionally, the HR Generalist will interpret and administer HR policies and procedures, making recommendations for updates as necessary to align with best practices and legal requirements. Daily responsibilities include processing HR and payroll activities, maintaining information in the HRIS and timekeeping systems, and coordinating with the Corporate HR and Finance teams. The HR Generalist will also manage short-term disability and leaves of absence, including FMLA, and will be the point of contact for first reports of injuries and claims, liaising with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation and third-party administrators. In terms of employee relations, the HR Generalist will administer counseling statements, corrective actions, and documentation, serving as a liaison between the region and Corporate HR regarding legal disputes. The role also involves preparing and submitting necessary HR reports, such as overtime tracking and turnover calculations, and assisting the Corporate Director of Human Resources with various projects and assignments. The work environment is primarily office-based and sedentary, requiring a professional demeanor and confidentiality. The position may require travel to other locations for HR purposes, meetings, seminars, and community events. Creativity, flexibility, self-direction, self-discipline, and organization are essential traits for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop policies and procedures ensuring compliance with the Ministry's mission and core values.
  • Lead regional recruitment strategy and activities, including attending career fairs and conducting interviews.
