About the position

Leprino Foods Company is seeking an HR Generalist for its new state-of-the-art cheese and whey manufacturing facility in Lubbock, TX. This facility, which is set to become operational in phases starting in 2025, will house over 600 employees and is part of a $1 billion investment aimed at enhancing innovation, technological advancement, and production efficiencies. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in fostering a strong company culture, managing succession planning, organizational design, and leadership development, as well as overseeing recruitment efforts. The position requires a proactive approach to improving employee morale and establishing positive relationships within the workforce. In this role, the HR Generalist will support the daily operations of the HR department, providing guidance and assistance on company policies and procedures. They will lead employee engagement initiatives and support practices that promote a positive employer-employee relationship. The HR Generalist will also coordinate compliance and regulatory training for employees, manage benefits orientation and training, and oversee the annual benefits open enrollment process for non-bargaining unit employees. Additionally, they will collaborate with business partners to maintain appropriate staffing levels and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Organizational Development, along with at least two years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Associate. Preferred qualifications include extensive experience in organizational development, safety, and training, as well as a Master's degree in HR Management or Organizational Development, and relevant certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP. Experience in a 24/7 dairy manufacturing environment is also highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in driving the company's strong culture, succession management, organizational design, leadership development and assessment, and recruitment.
  • Recommend and implement practices necessary to establish positive relationships and promote a higher level of morale.
  • Improve on existing practices and procedures in order to continue hiring a remarkable workforce for both exempt and non-exempt level positions.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the HR Department and provide advice, assistance, counseling, and follow-up on Company policies and procedures.
  • Lead employee engagement teams and activities.
  • Support employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Assist with coordinating compliance and regulatory training for all employees.
  • Coordinate and conduct benefit orientation and other benefits training, including the annual benefits open enrollment process for non-bargaining unit employees.
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts with business partners to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained within the plant, including development of employment advertisements and/or working with third-party staffing agencies as needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the orientation and onboarding process for new employees.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's in Human Resources or Organizational Development including two (2) years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Associate.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive experience in OD and planning, safety, and training.
  • A Master's in HR Management, or OD including a PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP (and SCP) certification.
  • Experience in a 24/7 dairy manufacturing environment.
