About the position

Project Solutions, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Human Resource Generalist to join our team in Rapid City, SD. This role is pivotal in supporting various functions within the Human Resource department, which encompasses talent acquisition, compensation management, benefits administration, leave management, reporting, and the enforcement of company policies. The Human Resource Generalist will report directly to the Head of HR and will play a crucial role in fostering a positive workplace environment through effective HR practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Human Resources, demonstrating expertise in benefits administration, talent acquisition, compensation strategies, and employee training. A successful HR Generalist should exhibit patience and compassion, coupled with excellent listening skills and the ability to multitask efficiently. This position requires a proactive approach to managing HR functions and a commitment to maintaining compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations. In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting and interviewing candidates, facilitating the hiring process, and ensuring that new hires are effectively onboarded. You will also oversee mandatory training programs, assist employees with benefits inquiries, and manage employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions and investigations. Your ability to guide leadership on sensitive issues while maintaining confidentiality will be essential to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for all open positions.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand the needs of their department and any required job openings.
  • Schedule and coordinate pre-employment background verification.
  • Create new-hire onboarding programs and deliver compelling new-hire orientations.
  • Ensure mandatory training and continuing education is complete and documented, including safety training, code of conduct and handbook training, anti-harassment training and certifications required.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, changes to regulations, recent technology breakthroughs in HR, talent, and employment law.
  • Assist employees with benefit programs and all leave requests.
  • Work closely with the Human Resource team on the annual Open Enrollment period.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage all details and coordination of disciplinary discussions, terminations, and investigations.
  • Guide the leadership team on sensitive or complex matters and elevate to the appropriate staff when investigations are required.
  • Ensure professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in Human Resources, including benefits administration, talent acquisition, compensation, reporting, and training.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
