The HR Administrative Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining the integrity of employee data within the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system. This position is responsible for entering various transactions related to employee status, such as job changes, promotions, demotions, and transfers, ensuring that all data is accurate, complete, and compliant with company guidelines as well as federal, state, and local regulations. The specialist will also generate and provide departmental reports as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the HR and Operations teams. In addition to data entry, the HR Administrative Specialist serves as a point of contact for employees and plant leaders regarding Workday-related inquiries. This includes addressing questions about data transactions and resolving discrepancies in data input. The role requires a proactive approach to research and resolve issues, escalating unresolved matters to the appropriate personnel when necessary. The specialist will also gather, track, and compile data for HR and Operations metrics reporting, such as headcount, absenteeism, turnover, and employee referrals, ensuring timely distribution to relevant stakeholders. The position involves overseeing the Trumpia messaging system and managing the unemployment process, which includes researching and submitting necessary documentation. Training supervisors and managers on the functionality of the Workday HCM system is also a key responsibility. The HR Administrative Specialist must validate I-9 documentation for new hires and ensure compliance with the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) requirements. Additionally, the role requires identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and streamline operations. Safety is a priority in this role, and the specialist is expected to promote and adhere to all safety initiatives, contributing to a culture of zero accidents. The position is an individual contributor role, requiring competencies such as functional and technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal savvy.
