About the position

The HR IT Project Manager at Vail Resorts is responsible for managing and leading various projects within a critical HR Technology portfolio. This role focuses on driving business value across multiple lines of business by overseeing HR transformation projects that enhance the employee experience. The position requires strong project management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, ensuring successful implementation of key initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HR Technology projects by defining scope, building project plans, identifying resources, monitoring finances, and communicating risks.
  • Build and manage resources, processes, systems, and controls for effective HRT program management.
  • Provide leadership for a multi-disciplinary delivery team to ensure successful implementation of initiatives across various platforms.
  • Engage and communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding project status, milestones, and operational planning.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with business and IT peers and leaders.
  • Ensure timely delivery of software projects based on the portfolio roadmap and stakeholder expectations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in briefing stakeholders on project delivery aspects.
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors, including contract negotiations and invoice tracking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3+ years of experience managing enterprise HR/Technology projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project)
  • Detail-oriented with strong program and project management skills
  • Ability to lead projects in progress or in need of rescue
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Project Management Professional
  • Certified Scrum Master and/or Product Owner
  • Prior PM experience managing HRT projects
  • Solution-oriented mindset that identifies challenges and offers solutions
