About the position

As the Manager of Benefits and Wellness at Trek, you will play a vital role in enhancing the health and well-being of employees across North America. This position involves managing comprehensive benefits packages, promoting wellness initiatives, and overseeing the onsite medical clinic and gym. You will act as a trusted resource for the business, ensuring compliance and providing support on all aspects of benefits and wellness programs, ultimately empowering employees to perform at their best.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design and administration of health, dental, and vision plans.
  • Manage relationships with insurance carriers and third-party administrators.
  • Assist employees with navigating issues such as pre-authorization, denied claims, and billing.
  • Oversee the pharmacy benefit manager and handle denials and overrides as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely flow of eligibility and enrollment data.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Direct the administration of the company's retirement plans (401(k) and ESOP).
  • Drive process enhancements and automation to improve efficiencies.
  • Attend 401(k) Retirement Committee meetings and collaborate with committee members and financial advisors.
  • Plan, develop, and execute comprehensive wellness initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to provide resources and activities that support a healthy lifestyle.
  • Oversee the operations of the onsite medical clinic and gym.
  • Prepare comprehensive benefit and wellbeing communications for open enrollment and wellness initiatives.
  • Resolve moderately complex employee issues or escalate concerns as needed.
  • Regularly meet and work with vendors and/or brokers to ensure high customer service delivery.
  • Communicate with external benefit vendors regarding benefit programs and resolution of member issues.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to HR Business Partners, managers, and employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in benefits administration, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
  • Experience managing Employee Stock Ownership Programs (ESOP).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in benefits management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or similar certification is a plus.
  • Workday specific experience beneficial.
